Group Aschwanden
This interdisciplinary research group focuses on understanding psychosocial functioning and ageing across diverse populations. We examine key areas of social, affective, physical, and cognitive functioning in both healthy and clinical populations, including those with dementia. Through the integration of cutting-edge technology and innovative research methods, we aim to improve well-being and support healthy aging. Our work bridges disciplines to better understand the complexities of aging and to develop meaningful interventions to enhance the lives of older adults.
To answer our research questions, we pursue a broad range of methods, such as longitudinal, multilevel, meta-analytic, machine learning, structural equation modeling, ecological momentary assessment, and qualitative approaches. Moreover, we collaborate with researchers in Switzerland (University of Zurich, University of Lausanne, University of Applied Sciences in Eastern Switzerland), France (University of Montpellier), Germany (University of Heidelberg, University of Applied Sciences Fulda, University of Applied Sciences Furtwangen), Ireland (University of Limerick), the Netherlands (Tilburg University), the United Kingdom (Hellesdon Hospital), and the United States (Florida State University, Northwestern University, Washington University in St. Louis, West Virginia University).
